In today's economy we all purchase online and pay little to no attention to where and how the products we purchase are made. We are not able to know the person or their trustworthiness. Reviews are commonly made up (we call this the “amazon strategy”) by employees or web developers. With the recent gold rush in the CBD industry we strongly urge BUYER BEWARE! The market is full of dangerous products. For example: we know a local retail shop that started off with high quality products. To increase profit margins they started to use oil produced using alcohol that is “denatured.”

Is this a product you want on or in your body?

According to Merriam Webster dictionary denatured is:

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/denaturation

Denaturation: to make (alcohol) unfit for drinking (as by adding an obnoxious substance).

The denaturing agent present in the products was n-HEPTANE!

According to New Jersey Department of Health, bullitain on n-HEPTANE https://www.nj.gov/health/eoh/rtkweb/documents/fs/1339.pdf

HAZARD SUMMARY * n-Heptane can affect you when breathed in and may be absorbed through the skin. * n-Heptane can irritate the eyes, nose, and throat. * Exposure can cause headache, lightheadedness, dizziness, lack of coordination and loss of consciousness. * Loss of appetite and/or nausea may occur. * Repeated exposure may cause skin rash, dryness and redness. * n-Heptane may affect the nervous system.

They also halted proper testing of their products that would prove any and all residual chemicals are removed. When shopping for CBD products ask how the oil was extracted, where does the hemp come from and how was it grown.

Lakes Hemp Company partnered with Nature's Produce with their Premier Retailer program. The supplier and farm are local to our main retail location. We are able to tour the farm and facilities, learn of their growing practices, vet their manufacturing and provide you with the best products available.
